Well, we’ve sure awoken to some interesting news this morning haven’t we! Even though the Google Playground event has been postponed due to some inclement weather, the new releases are still coming thick and fast.

Let’s get in it.

Features
The Play Store listing shows us that the Nexus 4 will feature Photo Sphere camera that takes 360° panorama shots, like ‘no other camera you’ve ever seen’. Just like the Google Street View cameras, you can take panorama shots that cover every dimension, taking photos like you’re actually there.
Sharing these photos will be a cinch, with sharing available via Google+, Google Maps or via email. You can do this on the phone, because the editing tools you’ll need are there too, built right in.
Old favourites like Instant Upload allow you to automatically post photos you take, including these new Photo Sphere shots, straight to a private album on the web for you to use later as you see fit!
Wireless Charging also gets a mention – not only will you never need to plug your handset into a pesky USB cable (unless you’re going to root it, I guess), but you’ll never have to plug it into a charger, either. Just place your Nexus 4 on a compatible charging mat, and your phone will charge up. No cables. No mess.
Shut up and take my money!
Well, they’re not for sale just yet – unfortunately – but that’ll probably change soon. In the meantime, if you want to get MORE information than we’ve given you, go check out the order page on the Play Store here.
So do we think local carriers will be picking up this phone and selling it on plans? Do we think Google will allow that now that their selling their own devices?
i think if optus of Hellstra put this phone on a plan it would be a $59 a mth for 24mths. Its better to buy it for $400 and jump on a $15mth plan from someone like TPG which gives you the same value in terms of cap usage but you end up $650 better off over 24mths (you could even buy the next nexus next year and still save $250)
Just can’t bring myself to buy an LG phone even if it is a nexus.
For sale for AU$399, but its only US$299. We’re getting marked up $100 again, why does this keep happening?
The US$299 is for the 8GB version which is on sale here for $349. Considering the GST on that is about $35, we are only paying about $15 more, which is completely acceptable if you ask me.
This is going to be my next device it seems.
Aha I got a bit overexcited and forgot to read.
Also all prices in the US are pre local tax which varies from state to state.
$400 out right on the play store for the 4. You can buy two Nexus 4’s for every iphone 5. This price is awesome!
$399 for 16GB makes it awfully tempting.
I’ll be getting the 16GB one in a few months and soon after I confirm it does have a multi-coloured notification LED.
Well, I for one will be buying a Nexus 4. I might even save some money and buy an 8GB model. I only need about 4 or 5 GB for photos and music. Videos are better on my Nexus 7.
Incidentally, I can’t wait to see a 1080p movie in 300PPI on the Nexus 10.
On a major downer, Google cannot break free of the US Carrier stranglehold and release an unlocked LTE Nexus. I’m just gonna hold back on what I think of those Carriers because it wouldn’t be pretty 🙁
