After announcing the Android 8.1 beta for selected Pixel and Nexus devices yesterday, Google has today begun rolling the update out.

The OTA update is heading out to those devices enrolled in the Android beta program, devices supported for the Beta include the soon to be released (in Australia) Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL devices, as well as for Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel C, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P. The OTA update was held for a day according to Googler Prithi Anand who announced the update on the Android Beta Google+ community.

At this stage we’ve seen the update on the 2016 Pixel and Pixel XL, but users on reddit are reporting it’s arriving on the Nexus 6P & 5X as well.

For anyone not wanting to enroll in the Beta program you can download the full flashable image for your supported device from the Android Developer preview page.

Thanks: Chris.
