It seems our poor neighbours across the Pacific Ocean are now finally able to purchase books from Google Play Store. The Mountain View company today announced the rollout of the feature to New Zealand and other Asian countries including Indonesia, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.
Google has been slowly spreading its Play products across the world to Android users. While it would be awesome if they just flicked a big switch to bring all the Play Store products to everyone worldwide, rights & legal restrictions prevent such a scenario.
Still, it is good to see our fellow Tasman neighbours finally getting Play Books – hopefully there’ll be more products to come for both Australia and New Zealand!
Did you just get access to Play Books? What’s your first purchase? Let us know in the comments!
Finally, been waiting for the ability to upload my ebooks.
