Aldi often have some great deals on some decent tech products and from our page numbers we know you love them too. This week Aldi have another great deal on that is worth checking out.

Beginning Saturday (and most likely ending Saturday given the history of sellouts at Aldi of sale items), Aldi is selling a smart video doorbell from Cocoon for just $99.99 with a 12 month warranty.

The video doorbell is Android and iOS compatible and is available in both silver and black colours. It seems to include most of the functionality of more expensive brands including instant notifications direct to your phone for motion and doorbell alerts, live one-way video streaming and two-way audio intercom with the built-in microphone and speaker.

There is support for a local microSD card (up to 64GB) in the doorbell – enogh to store a fair bit of the 720P video captured by it. It includes 6 IR LEDs offering up to 5-10 metres of night vision. It only supports 2.4GHz Wi-Fi but it does support smartphone remote control wakeup.

This functionality would normally be expensive but this week at Aldi it is just $99.99 so if you are after a video doorbell but your budget doesn’t stretch to one of the name brands then this could be just the deal for you. Head into Aldi early this Saturday and check it out.

I’m very happy with my Aldi doorbell. The video quality is great as is it’s responsiveness/speed to connect to the phone app. My mum can answer the door without getting up and my husband with an ankle injury doesn’t have to walk downstairs to see who’s there. You do need a good wifi connection for best results though.

I would hold onto your receipt because as quickly as Aldi specials sell out, they are just as quick being returned.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s far from being a *good* keyboard, but for $99 it’s got a ridiculous amount of functionality. But then from the very same company (Huxley) they were selling acoustic guitars and microphones that I wouldn’t touch with a 50 foot pole. Another good one (that I never managed to get a hold of) was their 3D printer. It’s… Read more »
