Remember when Android Wear was new? Remember the original Moto 360 with it’s beautiful round display, and less beautiful flat tyre display? Well the Moto 360 is back with a 2019 edition and it looks just as elegant and with new internals to boot.
The 2019 Moto 360 features a Snapdragon Wear 3100 SOC, 1GB of RAM, 8 GB of internal storage, a 1.2-inch AMOLED always on display (390 x 390), 355 mAh battery, quick charging and 20mm interchangeable watch straps. It’s also packing NFC for Google Pay, a Heart Rate monitor and step counter for fitness tracking. Control wise it has 2 buttons one seemingly including a digital crown.
It’s going to launch in Phantom Black, Steel Grey and Rose gold coming with both leather and silicone watch straps in the box. Unfortunately it looks as if Qi charging hasn’t returned this year with mentions of fast charging likely not meaning wireless.
The Moto 360 goes on pre-order on 12 November for $349.99 USD which would make it around $500 if we ever saw it retailed here. You can pre register today at moto360.com but at launch they’re only shipping to the USA, Canada and the UK.
We have approached Moto in Australia to ask about Australian availability.
A shame it has a bezel and no wireless charging…
Still flogging my Gen 1 Moto360 (just replaced the battery for the second time), and was thinking that I need to start looking around for a new watch…might wait and see if this hits Oz soon.
I’ve had 2 Fossil ones (gen 2 and now gen 4) and have really enjoyed them, after my gen 1 360 smashed.
