The Motorola Razr made quite a splash when it was announced to the market. There’s nostalgia with the device, the form factor and even the brand. But when the phone actually landed in the market, it wasn’t all it was cracked up to be with the out of date internals and spud cam leaving many unimpressed. The display did not seem to hold up as well as it should have for such an expensive phone either.
Sadly, there weren’t any review units available within Australia for us to personally test it out. So it’s going to be interesting to see how the upcoming upgraded version of the device will hold out.
Today Evan Blass has revealed a gif of the upcoming Razr 2 or Razr 5G (unknown at this stage just what it will be called) which doesn’t show much new but it’s a great looking device still:
Checking for the available information on the device, there is some expectation of the upcoming 5G version with some pretty good specs:
- Snapdragon 765 processor
- 256GB storage
- 8GB RAM
- 48MP main camera
- 2,845mAh battery
The battery capacity doesn’t look great on paper and it will take some pretty serious optimisations to get it to last a full day. Provided the new device has good charging options, that may not be a major issue but only time will tell — stay tuned for the 9th of September when the new Razr foldable is expected to be announced.
battery less than 3000 mAh is DOA. Waiting for Gen 1 fire sale
