Amazon Australia and NZ are running a promotion where you could win a free Amazon Echo Dot to celebrate 3 years of Amazon being in the Australian and NZ markets, but there is a catch.
To partake in the promotion, you need to go to the Amazon Echo Facebook page and click on the promotional link which will directed to a Facebook chatbot, where you will be asked to provide the requested details (including full name, date of birth, email address and phone number), and be the first of 250 entries to answer 4 questions correctly asked by the Facebook chatbot per day.
The catch is the promotion only seems available for those whose names start with “ALE”.
There is a limit of 1 person per day and per prize with entrants having the possibility to win one of the following prizes:
- 300 x Echo Dot devices (valued at $79);
- 300 x three (3) Audible credits, via promotional code (valued at up to $50 depending on the books purchased); and
- 150 x Amazon vouchers, redeemable at amazon.com.au (valued at $25).
All entrants who do not win a prize will be eligible for a 15% discount off the price of any Echo device purchased from amazon.com.au during the Promotional Period.
The trivia starts at 8am AESDT and will only run for the first 250 entrants.
If you wish to partake in the offer, simply head over to the Amazon Echo Facebook page for more.
First I heard that Amazon supported NZ from AU. When I enter amazon.co.nz I go to the US store which is supported.
Question: How would you go about annoying 99.999 percent of your customer base.
Amazom’s answer: Run a thinly disguised personal data vacuuming operation as a connedpetition, on a personal data strip mining anti-social nyetwork, only allowing people with _very_ specific names to enter the connedpetition.
