Anker sub-brand, Eufy Security, has launched a new security device which brings together its award winning security camera to a combined smart lock called the eufy Security Video Smart Lock.
The Eufy Security Video Smart Lock features the fastest fingerprint unlocking speed and accuracy on the market according to Eufy, which also combines a 2K camera that is built in that enables users of the Eufy Security Smart Lock to see visitors approaching their home via their smartphone, alongside the inclusion of advanced Video Doorbell detection technology.
Talking more about the camera, the Video Smart Lock comes with a 160° wide field-of-view to show every detail as visitors approach the user’s home, alongside the included Wide Dynamic Range technology that delivers clear video even on the brightest days. There are also four infrared lights that detect visitors and objects in the middle of the night.
The Eufy Security Video Smart Lock also comes with voice capabilities so you can answer the doorbell section when either at home or away from home, sort of similar to its current smart doorbell or Ring smart doorbells currently on the market.
Furthermore, a selling point for Eufy is that users have complete control over their video data, with recordings stored locally and zero Cloud storage subscription fees.
Regarding the fingerprint sensor side of the Video Smart Lock, it uses an ultra-thin fingerprint film to ensure your finger never slips in rain or snow. Furthermore, the user’s fingerprint is re-oriented to the top of the scanner to deliver 98% accuracy. The Video Smart Lock also utilises advanced matching AI algorithms, with the scanner analysing the most-used fingerprints during every press to make sure users get inside their home with ease.
The Eufy Video Smart lock also comes with an IP65 waterproof rating for durable performance in any climate. Users can also auto-lock their Video Smart Lock either via the smartphone app but also thats to the inbuilt geomagnetism sensor and a gyroscope to accurately locate the door’s position within 0.75 mm, and will immediately engage the deadbolt when it senses the door has been closed.
Speaking at the launch of the Eufy Security Video Smart Lock, Gaspar Xie, Head of Sales Operations at Anker ANZ has stated:
“The typical video doorbell is just that, a doorbell without a secure locking mechanism. The Video Smart Lock combines a powerful camera with best-in-class fingerprint access technology to provide an accurate and lightning-fast home security experience,” and that “This device dramatically cuts down on false alarms and provides video storage at no extra cost.”
The Eufy Video Smart Lock is available through major retailers such as JB Hi-Fi and Bunnings Warehouse, alongside other retailers, although not stated at the release for $749.
Hi Alex, been waiting for this product for a while, I couldn’t seem to find it on JB HiFi nor Bunnings (nor Eufy’s website), any idea when it might be on sale in Australia? Any links you could share please?
