Ring has announced the release of its new Battery Video Doorbell, the latest iteration of its bestselling doorbell series, following the success of the Video Doorbell 2nd Gen. The new device boasts several advanced features, including Head-to-Toe HD video, Colour Night Vision, and an extended battery life of up to 23% longer than its predecessor.
Mark Fletcher, Ring’s Managing Director for APAC, expressed the company’s excitement about the product’s arrival in Australia and New Zealand, highlighting its versatility and enhanced privacy features. The doorbell’s Head-to-Toe HD video offers a 66% taller field of view, making it easier for users to monitor deliveries and visitors. In addition, Colour Night Vision ensures clear visibility during night time.
The doorbell also includes motion detection with customizable zones, real-time alerts, and a Two-Way Talk feature. With a Ring Protect subscription, users can access Smart Alerts for package and person detection, as well as Rich Notifications that provide photo previews of triggered alerts. The device is compatible with Alexa, allowing seamless integration into existing smart home systems.
Installation has been simplified with a new push-pin mount design, enabling users to install or remove the doorbell in under five minutes. Privacy and security remain a priority for Ring, with customisable privacy settings and the option for video end-to-end encryption.
The Battery Video Doorbell is now available for pre-order at AU$149.00 on Ring.com, Amazon.com.au, and select retailers in Australia including JB Hi-Fi, with shipping beginning on September 4, 2024.
