Nexus 9 users can finally enjoy not being behind the pack with their newest of Nexus tablets; not only has the over-the-air (OTA) update rolled out during the last week, but the factory image has now been uploaded to the Nexus firmware page as well.
The factory image is Android 5.1.1 (LMY47X), and takes you to the same place as if you’d accepted the OTA. If you’re one of those that likes to tinker, and was running a custom ROM when the OTA update arrived, you can use the factory image to restore your tablet to the way Google intended as well.
The factory image is only available for Nexus 9 WiFi models at the moment. The LTE variant remains at Android 5.0.2 (LRX22L).

So if 5.1.1 is available for the nexus 9 do I need to accept the 5.0.2 before the 5.1.1 becomes available. I didn’t install the 5.0.2 because I heard some bad stuff about it.
