Mobicity - Oppo Find 5
The first phone announced with a 1080P screen the Oppo Find 5 is finally making its way to Australia courtesy of Mobicity, they’ve just announced on their Twitter feed that the phone is now available for pre-order. Priced at $629 plus delivery the phone is not yet in stock and no eta has been given when I was speaking with their online chat assistants but will ship as soon as stock is received.

The Find 5 offers a high quality sight and sound experience with a 5″ 1080P screen offering a pixel dense 441PPI display as well as Dolby Mobile sound included. Powered by a 1.5GHz Quad-Core Snapdragon S4 Pro CPU, it has 2GB of RAM as well as 16GB of internal storage. A 13MP AF camera with LED Flash is mounted on the rear which offers HDR and 1080P video recording and a 1.9MP Front Facing camera is included as well. The Find 5 comes with all the standard wireless options including Wi-Fi a/b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0 as well as NFC, the phone comes with no LTE radios but is compatible with Australian 2G/3G Networks.

The Find 5 was a big deal when it was announced because it was the first phone announced with a 1080P display but unfortunately it has been beaten to market by other companies such as Sony and HTC. Oppo has advised they will be offering the Find 5 for sale in Australia in Q1 however we haven’t seen anything further on this as yet, if you’re interested in the Find 5 check out the Mobicity website.

Too expensive. Great specs but lack of 4G, unknown (outside geek circles) brand and no *wow* factor given the crowd of 5″ 1080p phones now being launched. I’m pretty sure you can even order the superior Xperia Z from Amazon UK for less than that, and the HTC One is not going to be a massive amount more either.

May as well by the Xperia Z at that price.

Makes no sense to buy this phone from a relatively unknown manufacturer at this price point.

$400 and you’d get a few more interested parties.
