The Moto Z2 Play is one of our most anticipated handsets of 2017 thanks to the innovative modular designs on the market. We’ve seen the Moto Z2 Play in gold previously, but here it is in grey.

The pic comes courtesy of Roland Quandt from Winfuture.de who shared the pic of the Moto Z2 Play in grey with a selection of style covers.

The Style covers offer a little functionality making the phone, which is expected to be made of the same glass/metal materials as the first, a little easier to grip. There’s a few nice colour options to personalise your device there, which should be available separately.

We recently saw a rumour that Motorola was slimming down the Moto Z2 Play, sacrificing battery life for a thinner profile. The phone will reportedly be around 6mm thin but the battery will similarly be reduced down to a mere 3,000mAh – a drop of 510mAh.

Under the hood, the phone will be powered by a slightly faster clocked Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. The Z2 Play will retain the 5.5″ FullHD display of the original. The rear camera will be 12MP with an f/1.7 aperture.

We’ll likely see the Moto Z2 Play in the near future with the original Moto Z series announced in early June 2016 at Lenovo Tech World. We’ll just have to wait a little longer for official word.
