It seems brand awareness building is afoot, with smartphone camera maker OPPO announcing a new partnership today with the Melbourne Stars cricket team.

The partnership sees OPPO coming on-board as the club’s Co-Major and Official smartphone brand for both the men and women’s teams.

OPPO says they see an exciting opportunity through the partnership, with the chance to ‘develop innovative match day experiences to engage, inspire and entertain fans’ with the Melbourne Stars whether at home or in the stadium.

It’s not the first major sponsorship for OPPO, with the company already a major sponsor of FC Barcelona, as well as becoming the official worldwide mobile phone partner of the International Cricket Council (ICC) in December 2015.

The first outing of the new OPPO partnership with the Melbourne Stars will be on New Year’s Day during the Derby at the MCG, where both the WBBL and BBL teams will take on cross-town rivals the Melbourne Renegades.

Melbourne Stars CEO, Clint Cooper, is excited about the new partnership and is looking forward to seeing what the two brands can achieve together in innovating the Big Bash experience for Stars fans and members over the summer.

It’s an exciting day for the Melbourne Stars to announce our partnership with OPPO – we’re thrilled to have a global leader in innovation and such a huge supporter of world cricket come on board as a co-major partner for both our men’s and women’s teams.

It’s an exciting move for OPPO and the Melbourne Stars, and we’ll hopefully see some good promos come out of the partnership, including maybe a few free tickets to games ;).
