At the moment there’s a great deal on two mid-range phones at JB HiFi, and though the value takes a bit of a walk through to see, it’s actually a real steal.

So, what’s on offer? JB HiFi has the Samsung Galaxy S10e and Huawei’s P30 (note, not the Pro) on sale for $199 up front on a 12-month Telstra plan. For $65 each month, you’ll get unlimited calls, SMS and 60GB of data.

All this comes to about $979 over twelve months, plus the $199 up-front handset cost. So, over twelve months, expect to pay $1178. Those who know their phones will know the Galaxy S10e retails for $988, and Huawei’s P30 retails for $1,099.

So, $1178 over 12 months doesn’t sound like much of a bargain, right? Well, it does when you factor in 12 months worth of plan access fees and inclusions – in other words, pay a grand or so for the phone by itself, or, through this deal pay the same amount and get 12 months of mobile service as well as the phone you want, with less up front.

There’s a couple of things to know here:

  • This deal is available in-store only.
  • Unlimited talk and text is to Australian numbers only.
  • The 60GB data is for use in Australia only. Roaming costs extra.

If you’re keen on a new Samsung Galaxy S10e or Huawei P30, this is a great way to get one, provided you’re happy to switch your current mobile number across to Telstra. Having just done this myself – Telstra offered more than Vodafone, tbh – this isn’t much of a catch at all, especially with such a (relatively) short contract term.

Hurry, this offer ends today.
