Sundar Pichai
Sundar Pichai has just completed a lengthy interview with Bloomberg Businessweek, where he discussed a great many things, ranging from Android through to Tim Cooks comments at the recent Apple launch.

Speaking about the recent Apple launch, where Tim Cook described Android as a Toxic Hell Stew, he replied apparently rather mildly, with something of admiration for their vertically silo’d approach :

It must be liberating [for Apple] to wake up and think about your device, your software—and hey, ‘I can even call the chip-set guys and say what the chip should be’. I have to think about building a platform and bringing as many people along on this journey and getting it right. I believe that ultimately, it’s a more powerful approach, but it’s a lot more stressful as well.

But more importantly to Android enthusiasts, he indicated that he would be demoing features from the next Android release (I`m still voting for Lamington), which he indicated would be coming in ‘the fall’.

This year, Pichai will preview the next release (Lollipop? Lemonhead?) for the first time at I/O rather than waiting until the fall. It’s a significant shift toward greater transparency. “I want the world to understand what we are doing sooner,” he says.

Businessweek also indicated that their sources had advised that Android TV will also be outlined at Google I/O this week. But were unable to give specific information on the platform, nor did they advise on a so-called Nexus TV.

The full interview is quite interesting and worth a read, you can check it out from the source.

We’re on the downhill run till tomorrow’s Google I/O keynote, hold on we’ll apparently be seeing a lot more then.
