While this isn’t the most earth-shattering news, it is none the less a bit of a change in behaviour, and it seems that more than a few users don’t really like it. We received the tip from Tarrant Marshall, and he’s definitely not a fan. Other users have chimed in on Google’s Product Forums, questioning the new move.
Not sure what we’re talking about? On Chrome for Android, if you do a search from the Omnibar (aka the address bar), the search results will show immediately below, with no in-page search box for you to see or change the search query; instead, the search query is shown in the omnibar at the top of the page. It saves on screen real estate, and at the end of the day, it’s a fairly intuitive move.
Bringing that across to the desktop doesn’t quite work so well, though. There are things that the in-page search box can do that the omnibar cannot; for example, rapid auto-complete of search terms to guide your search is something you lose with this change.

i haven’t got it yet and i’m running chrome canary Version 39.0.2135.0 canary
BUT what i have noticed is in the bar on the top, a button with you name comes up and the pop-up and shows your profile and options to chang people or go incognito
anyone else seeing this?
