Google Translate
Google Translate, is almost considered black magic when it comes to areas of communicating between different languages. But recently Microsoft appeared to jump ahead at least in one area: Live Translation. Microsoft introduced live translation into Skype last month, allowing simultaneous translation between English and Spanish speakers, but according to the New York Times, Google isn’t letting that slide and will be implementing live translations into Google Translate.

According to the Times, ‘the app will automatically recognize if someone is speaking a popular language and automatically turn it into written text’ a useful feature when travelling around the world. Google also has plans to incorporate technology from Word Lens, which translates text captured through your camera lens on the fly into your chosen language into Google Translate as well.

When the update will appear isn’t known, but knowing the speed at which Google iterates, it could very likely be soon.
