Facebook Messenger
Facebook has always had a problem with security, or at least the perceived lack thereof, but they’ve been working on that. In their latest update to Messenger, they’re adding a new option to share your location, or show a location with ease.

The new update is available now, with Facebook describing how to share a location:

To get started, just tap the More icon or the location pin at the bottom of your screen. If you want to tell a friend which restaurant to meet you at, search for the restaurant and send a map of where it is. If youโ€™re running late, send a map of where you are to your friend to let him or her know how far away you are.

Facebook has take great pains with this announcement to ensure that users know you have control over the sending of location at all times, you only send a location when you tap the location pin and then choose to send your location or a location (such as where to meet). You do need to have location services enabled, and Messenger only accesses this data when you tell it to.

If you’re using Facebook Messenger, make sure it’s up to date and then try it out for yourself.
