Instagram For Android
Instagram has updated their Android app to version 7.0 overnight, adding some new features which should make surfacing interesting new content and search a little easier.

The Explore function for those users in the US gets a little more interesting, with new curated collections as well as Tags and trending Places being added. The tags and trending places have been added to hopefully surface ‘trends as they emerge in real-time’. Collections also will show up at the top of the list when exploring and feature ‘interesting accounts and places, from musicians and extreme athletes to stunning architecture and gorgeous beaches’.

The updates to Explore are only available to those in the US – or those using a VPN – but Instagram hopes to roll the features out to more markets soon.

A function that everyone can now access is the new Search function. Instagram has updated search in their app, adding a Places section to help you explore content uploaded from a particular place. Whether it’s to relive memories of a trip, or check out an upcoming destination, the Places function should find all the places you want to explore.

The update is live now in Google Play – if you don’t get prompted to update, an uninstall/re-install fixed us up straight away – so head on over and grab it now.

Nice find. Grabbed it from apkmirror as it hasn’t hit the Play Store for me yet.
