I`m the worst person in the world for choosing wallpaper for my PC’s. I usually set a simple black background and leave it, but on my Chromebooks I tend to love their landscape pics, with my favourite being the Horseshoe Bend pic of the Colorado River in Arizona, but I might change that based on this new Chrome App from the Google Cultural Institute Art Project, which puts art from great artists like Van Gogh and Monet on your background.

The app is available from the Chrome Web Store, but is only for Chrome OS devices, and will ‘Breathe a little culture into your day’ by putting a different artwork on your Chromebook (box/base/bit) every day. The artwork doesn’t just include the more ‘well known’ artists, but also includes works from more modern styles with artwork from Graffiti or ‘Street’ artists also included in the mix.

The app also allows you to learn more about the artist, if you open the app an image description will appear to let you discover more about them on the Google Cultural Institute website.

If you want to give it a go, the app is now available on the Chrome Web Store for free. Check it out and see what you think.
