Google Play Music is a great service, but if you’re not already a member you’re probably hesitant to lay down your hard earned money just to check it out. Google is offering a 2-month trial to new subscribers to alleviate the stress, so you can see exactly what the service has to offer.

The trial is open to new subscribers – although I’ve already had a trial on my account a long time ago and I’ve just activated it again. The cost of the service after the trial ends is the usual $11.99 per month, but you do get access to all the usual goodies including the online music locker, which lets you store up to 50,000 songs from your own library online.

The option to get a 3-month Google Play Music subscription is of course open to new subscribers who have purchased a Chromecast recently, simply by checking out the chromecast.com/offers page while connected to wi-fi, or you can check the ‘Redeem Offers’ section in your Chromecast app, just select your device then hit the settings menu.

If you’re new to Google Play Music, this makes for a pretty attractive option, head over to Google Play and check it out.
