Is this the real life? So begins one of the most famous songs of all times, and now you can experience it in VR thanks to Google Cardboard.

The Bohemian Rhapsody Experience was created by Enosis VR in collaboration with Google Play as a new way to experience music. It pairs 360-degree video which includes 2D and 3D animation, motion capture and visual effects and spatial sound remixed by Dolby Laboratories to give you an insight into Queens frontman, the late Freddie Mercury’s subconcious mind.

The experience which includes interactive elements also ‘recreates the sensation of being onstage with the band, with visual and audio elements that respond to your movements’.

A behind the scenes featurette shows what went into the making of the experience:

The Bohemian Rhapsody Experience is available now for Android and iOS devices with support for Google Cardboard, or as a 360 degree video if you don’t have a viewer. You can find out more at g.co/borhapvr

Too bad it crashes on my Nexus 5. Takes ages to go through the initial screens then bombs out soon after the 360 or cardboard selection screen.

Same here, meh. Tested on two Nexus 5. Works on a Note 4, though.

Damn, only last week I threw out my eBay cardboard viewer thinking I’d never have a use for it ever again 🙁

I think I had like 15 at last count. Always a use for Cardboard.
