If you’ve been waiting for a ‘big’ game for Google’s Daydream platform to hit the market, then this morning you’ll find Need for Speed No Limits VR waiting for you on Google Play, but it comes with a hefty $23 price tag, and there’s In App Purchases in there to boot.

The game, which is developed by FireMonkeys, a Melbourne based publishing house, is the latest in the line of many Need for Speed titles from publisher Electronic Arts (EA). The game lets you sit in the drivers seat and cruise around using the Daydream controller to steer, drift and accelerate around the courses. That drivers seat will look great too with ’30 fully-rendered, highly-detailed interiors’ included in the game.

That attention to detail is also followed with the developers at EA including a lot of content including 60 events taking place on 12 tracks in 4 realistic environments. It looks pretty, and even a lot of fun in this trailer too:

The in-app purchases are presumably tied to the in-game upgrade system which lets you customise your ride as you play through the different levels. There’s no listing of how much each upgrade costs, but micro-payments are a big thing in gaming these days so it pays to be aware of them before you get too into a game.

If you have a Pixel/Pixel XL or even a Moto Z and a Daydream View headset this could be a good game to have…if that price tag doesn’t scare you off.
