In the wake of the launch of Android Wear 2.0, messaging service Telegram has announced the update for their Android Wear app which is designed for Android Wear 2.0 is now available.

The app is designed to take advantage of Android Wear 2.0 features, including the LTE connectivity allowing the watch to work independently of the phone. The Telegram Android Wear 2.0 app also features a new darker look, as well as support for several themes in different colors if that’s not your thing.

Telegram for Android Wear 2.0 also has a bunch of new functional updates including:

Using this tiny yet powerful app, you can browse your chats and quickly reply to messages with voice, text, emoji, or stickers. You can also view your contacts and even create groups right from your watch.

As well as replying with voice, text, emoji, or stickers you can always use the keyboard, or jump right into the handwriting recognition included in Android Wear 2.0.

There’s no watches in the wild supporting Android Wear 2.0 as yet, though that’s sure to change quickly as Google starts pushing the update to watches in line to get it. If you’re a Telegram user, you should be ready by the time that update arrives with the app in Google Play updating now.
