If you’ve been waiting for the day that Super Mario Run will arrive on Android then you won’t have to wait much longer with the Nintendo America Twitter account finally giving us a date.

The game will arrive on Android on March 23rd, ending over 4 months of exclusivity on iOS. The game was first announced at the iPhone 7 launch back in September last year before launching on iOS in December. Pre-registration started for Android in December, and now we’re finally nearly there.

Super Mario Run is an endless runner style game with a difference with players controlling the jumps for Mario as he runs through the familiar looking levels in ‘World Tour’. There’s other modes of play including a multi-player option called ‘Toad Rally’ and a Kingdom Builder that lets you utilise up to 100 different components to build a Kingdom.

The game will be free to play but with limited content. Nintendo notes in the Play Store listing that a fee will be available to unlock more content:

You will be able to download and enjoy a portion of Super Mario Run for free and can also enjoy all of the game content available after paying a set purchase price.

The unlock fee could be pricey, with a $10USD fee listed in comments on the iOS app store reviews.

If you want to be notified when Super Mario Run is available you can head over to Google Play and pre-register now.
