After a slight delay, Google has today announced that their Drive and Photos backup and Sync tool is now available to download for Mac and Windows computers.

The app will backup any folder you select on your hard drive to Google Drive, as well as backing up photos to Google Photos. While you can do folders on your PC, you also have an option to backup USB or SD cards you insert into your PC to Drive/Photos as well.

To start, all you have to do is download the tool from the Drive Backup and Sync page, login, select the folders you want to sync and the app does the rest.

At this stage, there’s no mention of a Linux client (booo), but for Mac and Windows users, the app is available to download now and it’s actually quite easy to use.
