Instagram has today announced the ability to follow hashtags, allowing you to surface more photos and videos which are relevant to you.

We often relate Hashtags to our own posts, and if they’re relevant to you you can find them a lot more easily and perhaps find a new Instagram feed to follow. Instagram suggests things like #onthetable, #slime and #floralnails are good examples of hashtags which are followed that the Instagram community is passionate about.

To find a hashtag you’re passionate about, you can search for the it using the search function, or simply tap on a hashtag in a relevant post you’ve found. The search results will surface top posts from that hashtag, as well as some stories in your stories bar at the top of the feed. Like any feed, you can unfollow a hashtag at anytime.

You can also check your followers, or people you follow to see what hashtags they’re following to find more relevant content.
