Google has taken to its blog to advise that it is currently pausing upcoming Chrome and Chrome OS releases due to adjusted work schedules at this time.

This comes after Google, along with other tech companies like Facebook, Apple, Twitter and Microsoft temporarily close their offices and retail stores due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, and are either requesting staff work from home or take leave during the crisis which is hitting other industries quite hard also.

Google has said that its primary objectives are to ensure they continue to be stable, secure, and work reliably for anyone who depends on them, and that it will continue to prioritise any updates related to security, which will be included in Chrome 80 when it is able to be released.

Until then, we will just have to be patient and just hope that this pandemic plateaus soon enough, until then please stay safe.
