Optus have finally posted up their press release for the Samsung Galaxy S, in it they specify that it will $0 on the $59 ‘yes’ Social Cap:

Available for $0 upfront on the Optus’ $59 ‘yes’ Social plan, customers will enjoy unlimited Facebook, YouTube, Twitter and MySpace – as well as 1GB of data per month. It will also be available for $0 upfront for Small Medium Business (SMB) customers on the $59 ‘Business Complete’ plan on a 24 month contract (min total cost $1416) which includes unlimited voicemail and SMS for SMB customers^

I think this is quite an aggressive price, and well played by Optus to kill off any Android launches on other carriers (Nexus One?).

No word as of yet, of repayments on lower plans.

Does anyone have a link to the actual phone plan? I couldn’t find it anywhere on Optus’ website.

Matt

Yeah wow is my response. I am still paying I think $69 / mo on Vodafone cap plan I got with my Magic what 18+ months ago and the only reason I stay is the 1 GB of data. I can sign up to this, sell the phone and keep my Nexus One.. or vice versa. And my Voda coverage sucks.. Optus signal and throughput is much better.

ted

glad I waited for the Legend to come out on three… now I can get this on the same size plan!

Lemon

WOW. Insanely good plan for that phone. Well done, Optus.
