Take this with a grain of salt, but some Galaxy Tab specs have been posted on an Indian website specialising in selling Books and Phones. The specs list, which can be found after the break, is fairly impressive with a super fast 1.2GHz CPU, 1024×600 Super AMOLED display & WiFi N just to name a few. Hit the break for the full list of specs.

  • 1.2GHz ARM Cortex-A8 CPU
  • 1024 x 600 7″ Super AMOLED Capacitive display – 16M colours
  • Front & rear facing Cameras
  • MP4, DivX, WMV, H.264, H.263 playback
  • 4000mAh Battery
  • MP3, WAV, FLAC, AC3, EAAC+ playback
  • 3.5mm Headphone Jack
  • GPRS, EDGE & HSPA
  • Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth & USB
  • Android 2.2
  • 16GB Internal Storage
  • A-GPS
  • MicroSD upto 32GB

It begs the question, would you buy this? or wait it out for the Notion Ink Adam?

Not sure i want galaxy tab,i been using galaxy s for 3 weeks n quality is so disappointing, so laggy n slow, gps is hopeless.battery life is half day without using the phone. wifi to 3g doesnt work sometime, when i leave from home i have to turn on flight mode n turn off to get 3g back. I was big fans of android but now i m thinking of going back to iphone. I think actual android os is good but device vendors r looking for short term profits and never control the quality.i hope sumsung will fix up all this… Read more »

Scrop i would say its a samsung issue not android. They also have a terrible track record of customer support, so best of luck.

Price and battery life is something I’d like to know

I can’t help but wonder. I read that the Galaxy Tab is launching September 2nd and the specs say with 2.2. WHERE’S MY OFFICIAL FROYO FOR GALAXY S! 🙁

although this looks quite nice, I’m not out on the market to get a tablet, but I am actually quite intrigued with HP’s announced WebOS tablet…. if anything I’ll wait until all the cards are laid on the table by more manufacturers and if I have a desire to get a tablet, then we’ll see what catches my fancy then 🙂

There are a few things that put the Adam above this for me, namely USB host, HDMI out and the Pixel Qi display. The thing that really turns me off this tablet however is that stupid proprietry USB connector. First Dell with the Streak now Samsung with the Tab, you bastards need to pull your heads out!

Notion Ink has pretty much disqualified its Adam Tablet as “the one” by not including Google Apps and Android Market. So if there aren’t any alarming surprises with the Galaxy Tab, Samsung will have me and many others as customers.

With hardware like this & Android 2.2 all Sammy has to do is get the UI right this time and it will be super competitive:) No Touchfizzing please!

Having said that, I wont be buying as I have no use for it. *thinks* Hmm, perhaps if Ms Gillard decides to seal the election deal with another helping of ‘$700 stimulus package’ I could grab a SGT for fun 😀

The big question is price … both this and the Notion Ink Adam look so awesome. The one that comes in cheaper could well get my business.
