As we reported last week, Woolworths were working on getting an Android app out, to complement their iPhone offering, well it appears they went ahead and released it a couple of days ago. After installing the app you can link it to your EveryDay rewards card and once linked to your local store you can scan items to search out their location in your store, like the location of that elusive can of Red Bull.

A Red Bull barcode for you to try

I can tell you from scanning my can of Red Bull (example to the right), it is in Aisle 8 of Queanbeyan Woolworths. I`ll just leave this can in the fridge in case Buzz ever drives through Canberra..

Other than that it appears to have the ability to pull the weekly specials from the web, allow you to create lists, locate stores, look up recipes (complete with ingredient lists) and check your Everyday rewards fuel vouchers. Not a bad effort Woolworths. Well Coles! The ball is in your court.

You can get it in the market here.

    This link doesn’t work? https://market.android.com/details?id=com.woolworths&feature=search_result

If it’s the same as the iPad app, it won’t run without access to your Everyday Rewards card. I will not use one on principal since it gives Woolworths far more access to personal info than I care to share. Think about the privacy implications before you choose this one. It certainly won’t be on my Android.

Needs to be able to tell us prices!! 🙂

I agree. An estimation of the total shopping list price would be nice also.

This app would be a whole lot better if it allowed you to share your shopping list automatically with your family. This way I could pick up some shopping on the way home from work without having to call to find out what we need.
