An anonymous user over at 4chan is reporting some hands on time with 3 unicorns of the Android world the Samsung Galaxy S III and the Nexus Prime (or as he calls it the Galaxy Nexus) & he also describes Ice-Cream Sandwich. Now before we proceed, if you`re not aware, 4Chan is behind some of the most successful trolling ever perpetrated on the internet. More Info after the break.

Nexus Prime/Galaxy Prime :

    • This Nexus will be exclusive to Verizon (as we have already seen, there are 2 models linked as Nexus Phones the SCH-i515 for Verizon and the GT-i9250 for everyone else, I think this one is busted)
    • The phone looks similar to the Sprint variant of the Galaxy S II, with a round-edged body, but also similar to the Nexus S with a curved screen
    • Samsung’s Exynos dual core CPU clocked at 1.5GHz (TI OMAP4 has previously been confirmed as the processor of choice for ICS)
    • 1gb RAM
    • Super AMOLED Plus 4.65 inch 1280×720 HD display
    • 16gb internal memory
    • SD card slot (I’m assuming he means MicroSD)
    • 8.8mm thick
    • Metal body
    • 2000mAh battery (the same as the new one that’s being released for the Galaxy S II that Buzz reported on).
    • Weighing in at around 130g-140g because of the metal casing

Ice-Cream Sandwich :

    • Android version was 2.4.1, not 4.0 (Probably explained by the fact that ICS is still not complete)
    • It works like the current Gingerbread OS but has received a major facelift
    • The menus are a lot nicer and smoother
    • Screens have a ‘glassy’ look to them
    • The app drawer has three sections at the top that you press and it goes to the drawer for your selection
    • Best of all with the drawers is that you can create and name your own app drawer if you want
    • Updated GMail & Calendar Apps as well as new Calendar widget
    • Updated Browser with tabbed browsing

Samsung Galaxy S III :

    • Will be revealed at the 2012 Mobile World Congress
    • Samsung-developed 2.0GHz quad-core CPU (no codename given)
    • 1.5gb RAM
    • 32Gb Onboard Storage (with sd card slot) – (Again I’m assuming MicroSD card)
    • 4.65 inch Super AMOLED III screen with 1280×1024 resolution with a ppi of 352
    • 9mm thick, has a metal and glass body
    • 2250mAh battery
    • 10 megapixel camera and is capable of shooting 1080p video at 60 frames per second
    • NFC Onboard
    • Ice-Cream Sandwich with Touchwiz 5 overlaid

So that’s what the rumours from the post are. Now, some of the Nexus Prime rumours match up with existing rumours and some don’t, so basically we are back where we started, waiting for announcements. The specs for the SGS III (if true) are insane but mouth-wateringly good.

Personal opinion? I’m not convinced. Let us know in the comments what you think.

That “Plus” spec on the Prime’s display is pure fantasy. It’s gonna be PenTile until 2012Q2.

Buzz Moody

I don’t think it’ll be Plus, either. More like Super AMOLED HD like the Galaxy Note.

Aaron McAuley

i think someone had their lil’ android firmly in hand when inventing those sgs3 specs.

Krausy87

Source 404’d – probably deleted post, meaning it wasn’t true to begin with.

Joshua

You’re wrong. 4chan threads never stay for more than a few hours.

NOZdroid

Did anyone else notice that if its 1280*1024 resolution its gonna be almost square? SGS III

Ocujos

Considering that the Nexus screen size is the same 4.65 as SGS3, resolution can only be 1280×720.

Grunger

Holy mother of God!!

Just as well, I’m going to wait another year or so for my next phone. Them specs are coming along in leaps and bounds!

But I agree with the other about the big screen. They don’t really need to get any bigger than 4.3 inches. Not everyone has huge hands.

Dazzler Reham.

It’s more how they make it mate. They can get away with large screens as long as they push it out more to the edges. might be why no home button will be present?, might not even be room for the logo on the front.

Level380

Little saden that ics isn’t a big change from gingerbread which wasn’t a big change from froyo.

As for specs I want to see better batteries! A phone that can last the day or two without worrying about if I’ll run out of battery!

The Iphone took the mobile world 10years ahead in features but 20years back in battery life.

Remember when nokia phones only had be charged weekly not twice a day!?

Aaron McAuley

my old N95 had a battery that lasted 2 days and features that the iphone didn’t match for 3 years…

Dazzler Reham.

My 5110 lasted 2 weeks. but the price od calls i didn’t ring anyone. sms same. and only games were snake lol. it’s any wonder they lasted that long. today my phone is running 10+ apps when I’m sleeping. so much going on it drops 10 points in 8 hours sleeping.

Kel_tey

smartphones nowadays are getting huge… still think 4.0 would have been the best optimum size…

montalbert

anyone else think that there is a Samsung galaxy nexus and a google nexus prime? Separate phones kind of like the desire and the nexus one? Its an incentive for them to make the nexus..they can also sell their own version of it..

At this stage I am thinking the prime or whatever it is called will be replacing my sensation..especially if it looks like the sprint sgsii.

Joshua

He’s saying touchwiz 5 has been in co-dev with Google. Highly doubt that. Whether the rest is true….??? 50/50 chance I’d say.

Tim Westman

Must stand up str8 so the drool flows from both corners of my mouth. SGSIII

Sig

If they can make that size screen and not make the phone any bigger that would be good. otherwise the Galaxy is going to be to big!

maatsby

i agree what’s the deal with the ever increasing screen sizes?
