Update: We’ve received more information straight from Samsung regarding the Galaxy S II HD LTE. It will be powered by a 1.5GHz Dual-Core CPU; the chassis will be 9.5mm thin; NFC will be built in. The viewing angle of the screen will be 180 degrees.
So we thought the Nexus Prime would be the first device from Samsung to feature their 1280×720 Super AMOLED display, turns out we’re all wrong. Samsung have just announced the Galaxy S II HD LTE for South Korea (damn!) which features, amongst other things, a 4.65-inch 1280×720 Super AMOLED display which pushes its PPI count to just under 316PPI — nice.
Along with the intense display are wireless connections for LTE, HSPA+ and CDMA Rev.A, which makes it an amazing global device. There’s also a larger 1850mAh battery to power the device. I can definitely see this being quite an attractive device to those whom import their devices via retailers, however, which the impending launch of the Nexus Prime just around the corner, is it really worth it?
Could very well be the Samsung equivilent of the HTC Desire – Nexus One thing.
pretty awesome but no nfc?
will have to wait for ics phones.
same cpu as the GS2 ? I like everything about that except have doubts about how snappy the 1.2ghz dual would go pushing that massively hopped up pixel count
The S2 hd is very likely faster than the 4430 rumoured to be shipping with the prime. Actually the current 1.2ghz exynos chip in s2 is faster than the 4430.. And by a very good margin. Check out anandtech.
ah you’re right, I must have been thinking of tegra2 and not exynos.
Just received more info – it’s a 1.5GHz dual-core
Give it 4 soft buttons and a notification led and I’d buy it
Lol i’d probably still buy, if it worked on LTE here… but yeah.. these would be some very nice to haves.. but with ICS are 4 buttons even needed? I miss the LED lights thats for sure though 🙁
At least this mostly confirms some of the nexus primes specs; especially the screen size, resolution and probably radio capabilities. I would call this the Nexus Prime’s conservative brother.
