Sony Ericsson has confirmed that their entire lineup of 2011 Xperia devices will receive the update to Ice Cream Sandwich and they`ve unofficially advised via a Facebook post that this would occur around March, now they`ve offered an official update timeline for their devices via the Sony Ericsson product blog.

We’re happy to confirm that the first 2011 Xperia™ smartphones will be upgraded to Android 4.0 starting from end March/early April 2012. The first smartphones to get the upgrade are Xperia™ arc S, Xperia™ neo V and Xperia™ ray. Soon after, starting from end April/early May, Xperia™ arc, Xperia™ PLAY, Xperia™ neo, Xperia™ mini and mini pro, Xperia™ pro, Xperia™ active as well as Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman™ will get their upgrades

They advise that the rollout will take place over several weeks and Xperia owners will be notified on their phone when the update for their device is ready they will then have the option to download over the air via 3G/Wifi or through the PC Companion software on a computer. Sony Ericsson have also promised to keep us up to date with videos of the new software running on 2011 Xperia smartphones.
