We were hearing news back in late January that was saying Vodafone will be selling the Samsung Galaxy Note in the near future, and it turns out it was right! Vodafone just announced via Twitter that the Galaxy Note is ‘coming soon’ to their network. They also included the below video of them meeting up with Samsung Australia to have a quick chat about the device which is half phone / half tablet.

Specs for the Galaxy Note include:

  • 5.3-inch 1280×800 Super AMOLED HD display w/ S-Pen
  • 1.4GHz Dual-Core CPU
  • Android 2.3 (Android 4.0 coming in an update)
  • HSPA+ 21Mbps 850/900/1900/2100MHz
  • Wi-Fi a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0

Had a play with this phone today, a customer came in with one they’d bought from overseas. It was pretty amazing how comfortably the phablet fit in one of my tiny, feminine hands. Definitely don’t think it looked as good against my ear though. Still.. a very interesting device and very handy for the right person.

I would love this phone if it were a bit more popular so here would be more tinkering support online!

I thought Samsung wanted to make sure nobody called it a Stylus. Isn’t it their S-Pen?

Should that be 1.5 GHz? Won’t Vodafone be selling the newer, non-LTE Note?

4G

Will it come with reception as well or will that have to be sourced elsewhere?

Jack

Hmmm, does this mean tomorrow’s competition might have a Note-y flavour?
