Pocket Now and Slashgear are reporting that the two HTC devices floating around the internet at the moment — HTC Endeavor and HTC Ville — are expected to launch at Mobile World Congress as the HTC One X and HTC One S respectively. It makes sense as HTC are no strangers to sticking with a name and then adding variations to it such as the HTC Sensation range which included the Sensation XE and Senastion XL.

The One X (Endeavor) will feature NVIDIA’s Quad-Core Tegra 3 CPU which will be clocked at a whopping 1.5GHz and will make use of the companion core to increase battery life. It also has a 4.7-inch display at HD (1280×720) resolution; Android 4.0 w/ Sense UI 4.0; 8MP and 1.3MP cameras; and a quad-band HSPA+ radio.

The One S (Ville) is the mid-range device which has a Dual-Core CPU clocked at 1.5GHz and a 4.3-inch qHD (960×540) display. It is also expected to make use of the software buttons that come with Android 4.0 instead of using capacitive buttons that HTC have become accustomed to.

Both devices are said to be announced officially on February 26th and then shown off on the Mobile World Congress show floor.

A solid model name… “One”.  Cool.  Sticks in your head.  All the HTC names just make it confusing.  Which is the Sensation?  Which is the Incredible?  They blur together.

I’ve seen this render so many times now, even though HTC have stated that their ICS phones will only have 3 soft keys.
Also, will next year’s flagship be the HTC TWO?  Is this their ‘Hero’ strategy, to continue to produce many phones, but stick them under the same moniker?
