ASUS are really putting their name out there as a manufacturer who can provide updates for their devices in a timely manner. In an interview with Tech Radar, ASUS’ Corporate Vice President, Benson Lin, said the following:

“Asus is very close to Google, so once they have Android 5.0 I think there will be a high possibility that we will be the first wave to offer the Jelly Bean update.”

That’s possibly the most straightforward way of saying that — directly mentioning Android 5.0 as ‘Jelly Bean‘. It’s no surprise that ASUS would be “very close” to Google as they do very little overall skinning of Android on their tablets and they’re always exceptionally quick to update them. The Transformer and Transformer Prime have both already received Android 4.0, whereas competitors such as Motorola are still yet to see complete roll-out of Android 4.0 on the XOOM — a device Google endorsed at launch.

So when Jelly Bean is announced at some point near the end of this year, and tablets have 12 core CPUs, you can expect to see ASUS making sure their presence is felt.
