Owners of the International unlocked GSM Galaxy Nexus should start seeing a prompt to update their phone to Android 4.1.1 (JRO03C), unfortunately those of you who purchased on contract from one of the Australian carriers you will still be required to wait for them to test the update before rolling it out. Unfortunately the factory image for the latest update has not hit the Google Developers page as yet but should be there soon.

As I have only just ordered my 2nd Galaxy Nexus and it hasn`t shipped as yet I can`t confirm the update but if you are the owner of an international unlocked GSM Galaxy Nexus and have received the prompt to update let us know in the comments.

    Still waiting… sadface

F… Yeah! Got Jelly Bean this morning! Seriously if your on a Samsung / carrier specific version of ICS, its worth flashing to the stock rom – you don’t have to wait for months for Samsung and then your carrier to release it.

Was on yakju 4.0.4 and had jelly bean ota pushed this morning.. working nicely ..not sure if I am imagining it or if reception is better…I am on telstra

Just got the System Update available message on my unlocked non-carrier specific Nexus.

    W00t.

Running Takju 4.04 on my GNEX here in Sydney. Still waiting for Jellybean anyone else on Takju?

My yakjuxw got an OTA update to
4.0.4 just days ago. So I can expect 4.1 soon? This is making me dizzy. 🙂

Shopping for one now, simply to receive early access to Jelly Bean. Best price I have seen for new unlocked is Kogan $399. Anyone seen better?

It was on Shopping Square for $397 till last night but their special has ended unfortunately, other than that Kogan or Expansys are the cheapest I found

Does anyone have the link to change the firmware on your phone so you get the updates from Google?

Might be useful for this thread in general.

In the post there is a link to the Google Developers page with Factory Images. Is that what you are looking for?

I mean for changing your device from Telstra to YAKJU

The images on the developers site are what do that.

Look for efrants post on xda developers forum. Hard to miss cost it has like 500 comments

this is far and away the most easiest way to do it. Completely idiot proof (I used to be said idiot) and If you do eff up, efrant is on providing tech support in the evenings (he is from cananda). The only gripe I have is the bastard wouldn’t let me donate anything to him for all his help http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1626895&page=49 This has ALL of the files required in a link on the post as well directly from the google factory images. Sadly as a yakju 4.0.4 (now), I haven’t received the update yet. I did however receive a firmware update… Read more »

I bought my GNexus on ebay, it was shipped from the Philippines about 4 months ago… When i got it it was running 4.0.2 and during that time it never got the 4.04 update. After a lot research i discovered it was running a build from Asia, and it wasn’t getting it’s updates direct from Google. With the help of the website below.. I re installed ICS 4.0.4 yakju direct from Google. Now i wait eagerly for the Jelly Bean OTA update….. 🙂

It shouldn’t be long until it’s available for YAKJU.

Currently the XDA thread is speculating that the update is only for people on the 4.1 OTA release (phones from Google I/O). No-one running stock 4.0.4 has gotten the update prompt yet.

The comment from the Google+ page for Nexus is :
The rollout of Android 4.1, Jelly Bean, begins today, starting with Galaxy Nexus HSPA+ devices.

    Doesn`t specify which build.
