LG Electronics Australia has announced that they are making the Quick Memo software available for their entire range of L-Series phones in Australia, this includes the Optimus L7, Optimus L5, Optimus L3 and the Optimus L2. The L7 software update also includes device improvements and the Play Movies app and will come as standard on devices shipped from August onwards, the L5 will have the update installed from Launch on the 1st of August.

If you own the Optimus L3 or L2 though you will have to wait until September for the upgrade. If however you have the L7 or the L5 you can go to Settings > About Phone > Software Update Check, then if you see an update select install now. Probably best to do this on your WiFi as no mention of the size of the update was made, so best be safe than sorry especially if you have a limited Data cap.

The Quick Memo function is essentially the ability to take annotate screenshots, save pictures or text and add comments on the device before sharing them via Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp, MMS, Email or they can be saved to refer to later in the Gallery. This is helpful for things like sending directions on a map, choosing something from a list or even sharing details. Quick Memo is activated via a softkey in the notification bar or holding down Volume Up and Down at the same time.

Here’s a quick demonstration I found on YouTube :

Thank you for this line “Quick Memo is activated via a softkey in the notification bar or holding down Volume Up and Down at the same time”

Releasing a product and you’re not telling people how to access it. How the hell was i supposed to know that. LG… SMH 🙁

Thanks.
