Following on from its appearance in the AllPhones catalogue this morning, LG has officially launched the Optimus L9. LG has advised that the handset will be available in Black or White for a RRP of $399 from retailers Allphones, Crazy John’s, Dick Smith, and Dodo. The indication from AllPhones is that stock should be arriving in-store mid-December.

LG is rightfully playing up the QuickMemo functionality of the L-Style phones which I personally love, with the L9 they are also introducing their QTranslator and My Style Keypad software on the Optimus L9. The QTranslator function allows translation of sentences and phrases from 44 foreign languages using Optical Character Recognition, while the My Style Keypad function allows for natural keyboard function by adjusting the key formation to one or two handed typing as well as left or right handed typists.

LG Optimus L9 Specs :

  • 4.7″ qHD(960×540) IPS LCD with Gorilla Glass
  • 1GHz Cortex-A9 Dual-Core CPU
  • 1GB RAM
  • 4GB on-board Storage with microSD Card Slot
  • 8MP Camera with LED Flash, VGA Front Facing Camera
  • 2,150mAh Battery
  • 131.9×68.2×9.1 mm @ 125grams
  • QuickMemo for instant on-screen note taking
  • Cheese Shutter for voice activated photo taking
  • Available in Black or White

We’ve got a review unit of the L9 on the way and hopefully should have a review of the L9 up shortly, so far LG has been working hard this year with a very successful launch of their L-Style range and this can only get better with the Optimus G expected in the first quarter of 2013.

looks like a nice phone for the wife. Does it work on the Telstra freqs?

So its a Nexus 4, with a dual core and MicroSD card… NICE

Except a slower processor, lower resolution, less RAM and less internal storage.

yes in victoria i know 2 stores have them

once again guys this is in stock at allphones

Yeah, I posted about AllPhones earlier on, but when I asked at a couple of stores they said they didn’t have stock but that was in Canberra. Are they in stock in other places already?
