HTC Facebook Phone
It was just over 2 years ago that the first Facebook phone the HTC ChaCha was announced and almost as long since the second Facebook phone, the HTC Salsa was announced. According to the @evleaks twitter account there’s a new Facebook phone incoming and it will again be a HTC built device.

Codenamed the HTC Myst and with no mention of a physical keyboard, the phone is expected to be candybar design similar to the Salsa, although a slider style phone can’t be ruled out completely. The phone would be expected to feature a hardware Facebook button like the previous iterations and come pre-loaded with the official Facebook App as well as Messenger and Pages Manager apps as well.
Specs :

  • 4.3″ 720p Display @ 320ppi
  • 1.5GHz Dual-Core CPU (MSM8960)
  • 1GB RAM
  • 16GB on-board storage (No expandable memory)
  • 5MP Rear Camera, 1.6MP Front Facing Camera
  • LTE and HSPA
  • Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n
  • Android 4.1.2(Jelly Bean)

The 4.3″ 720P HD Display could be a winner for many looking for a phone in that form factor and there’s no denying the popularity of Facebook as a platform so this phone will definitely find a market. It will also be interesting to see exactly how involved Facebook will be in the marketing of the phone when it’s announced and released as well.

What is the point of having facebook phone when it is running NOT facebook OS and made by NOT facebook? It is just regular HTC low end smartphone.

Yet another reason why HTC wont be around for much longer imo.

Yeah because making a phone designed for Facebook will make the company go down the drain.

If it has a keyboard like the Desire Z, then it might be a worthwhile phone as long as it not as heavy.

What’s the point? As Jason said, every phone is a Facebook phone.
