Chrome Beta

Yesterday we told you about the update to Chrome for Android (the stable build) and how this brought full screen browsing to phones.

Well, with the stable build of chrome being promoted to version 27, it comes as no surprise that the beta version has now been updated to version 28.

The biggest changes in this new version are full screen browsing on tablets, which works in exactly the same way as it does on phones as well as translations being built in, so now when you visit a page that is not in your native language, you will be asked if you would like it translated.

Here is the change log:

  • Google Translate: When you come across a page written in a language that isn’t in the same language as your phone or tablet, look for the translation bar
  • Fullscreen on tablets: Simply scroll the page to dismiss the toolbar
  • Support for fullscreen API
  • New graph showing your estimated bandwidth savings when you use the experimental data compression feature
  • Mobile friendly error pages

Once again, we will remind you that you will not find the beta version by searching the Play Store, so make sure you use the link below.
