Huawei Ascend G510
It seems a lot of entry-level Android mobile devices are being made more enticing with somewhat recent Android OS (Jelly Bean 4.1 for a start at least), with some features like NFC/DLNA features making their way to these devices, albeit slowly but its a start really.

That’s where the Huawei Ascend G510 comes in through the Optus prepaid store. Whilst it doesn’t offer Android 4.2.2 or a higher spec screen or LTE (4G), it still seems to offer some decent specs for an entry level device which I really have to say is a good start for a pre-paid phone.

Whilst the Huawei Ascend only offers a 4.5” IPS LCD Screen offering 480×854 pixels (218 ppi pixel density) and a 5MP rear facing camera (front facing being only VGA or 0.3MP), it also comes with 4GB of internal memory that can be extended up to 32GB with a Micro SD Card.

The Huawei Ascend G510 full specs are as follows:

  • 4.5″ 854×480 IPS Display
  • 1.2GHz Dual-Core Qualcomm MSM8225 Snapdragon CPU
  • 4GB on-board storage with microSD card up to 32GB
  • 5MP Rear Camera with 0.3MP Front Facing Camera
  • WiFi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, A-GPS, FM Radio, NFC & DNLA
  • Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean)
  • 1700 mAh Battery life
  • 134x67x9.9mm @ 150 grams

The Huawei Ascend G510 is available through Optus pre-paid online now and in stores for $149, not bad given the availability of NFC/DLNA features on a pre-paid device.

So is the Huawei Ascend G510 enticing you to rush out and buy one?
