google-helpouts

Google is pushing the boundaries of what their Hangouts service can bring to its users. Today they’ve unveiled ‘Helpouts’ (punny) which allows users to lend assistance to other users using Hangouts as the communication medium. These help sessions will cost the user a certain amount with a 20% fee which goes to Google.

There are set categories from which you can get help from teachers and self-proclaimed experts in their fields. These categories include Music and Arts, Computers and Electronics, Cooking, Education, Fashion and Beauty, Fitness and Nutrition, Health and Counseling, and Home and Garden.

These experts will have their credentials checked by Google before they are allowed to go live and help people out.

Helpouts has no set launch date, but it will be interesting to see how it works when it does make its way to the public.
