Android 4.4 KitKat

According to a purported leak in India, the Samsung Galaxy S4 (GT-I9500) and the Galaxy Note 3 (SM-N900 – perhaps they meant the N9000?) will be receiving an Android 4.4 KitKat update in January. The Galaxy S3 (GT-I9300) and the Note II (called Note 2 SM-N7100) will receive the update in March to April of 2014.

I don’t blame our Indian friends for making a few mistakes with the nomenclature of Galaxy devices, after all the Note II was followed by the Note 3, and the Galaxy SIII was improved upon by the S4. Calling them all 2/3/4 certainly simplifies things.

The leak looks authentic, so let’s hope that the Android 4.4 roll out will be global starting with the Samsung Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 3 in January for international versions.

Do you have a Samsung Galaxy S4 or Note 3 on Android 4.4 KitKat? What do you think of it? Let us know in the comments!

Having galaxy s4 from Vodafone in Hungary. No information about kitkat 🙁

Lol I know still waiting on 4.3 here for my S4!

Have the Hong Kong international version here in Australia. Checked updates manually last night and got my 4.3 update. You may want to give it a try

Hey, i too have the Hong Kong international version in Australia. I didn’t know just assumed it was Australian. I’m still new to the s4 but is it different in any way ??

Not a big deal or difference. As far as I know the only difference is you can swap what is in the quick short cuts below. It may also push updates at different times. Still fully usable in Oz.

Foxtel go won’t work on my galaxy note 3 from Hong Kong – app says it supports Australian models only…don’t know what the difference is though?..have been trying to find out

Android 4.4 KitKat coming to Samsung Galaxy S4 and Note 3 in January.

Coming to Australian consumers in July.

So true…
