Slate 21 Pro
First Acer, then Lenovo, now HP, it seems that CES 2014 is going to see a number of Android based All-in-One Desktops, with HP today announcing the Slate 21 Pro, HP’s first attempt at Android on a desktop PC.

The HP Slate 21 is a 21.5″ full HD IPS Touchscreen display, powered by an Nvidia Tegra 4 Quad-Core SoC, the machine comes with a stand design that allows for up to 70 degrees of movement or be VESA mounted. The All–in-One comes with 802.11 a/b/g/n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 as well as a HD Webcam. The Slate 21 Pro will come with Android 4.3.

As well as access to Google Play for all your standard Android Apps, the Slate 21 Pro comes with Kingsoft Office Suite and 50 GB of Box online cloud storage. The Slate 21 Pro is Citrix Certified with Citrix Xen Mobile pre-installed and is HDX verified.

At this stage, availability has been announced for the US only, with the HP Slate 21 Pro available now with Mouse and Keyboard for US$399. You can head to the Slate 21 Pro micro-site, but there’s precious little information – such as RAM and storage etc – other than what has been provided in the initial press release.

Is an Android based All-in-One what you need?

  1. A small 21.5 in HP Android AIO, not big enough, compared to my existing Win7 desktop, or the Lenovo ThinkVision 28.
