Late last year LG released an 8.3in G Pad here in Australia. We reviewed it in January and to say the review was less than positive is an understatement. It was a mid range tablet at best. A month ago LG announced successors to their G Pad. This time, instead of a single tablet size LG are targeting three different markets, 7.0- 8.0- and 10.1-inch sizes. It is debatable whether the 7 is different enough from the 8 to warrant a whole different tablet but that is a discussion for another time.
Today LG announced that they will be rolling out the G Pad 7.0 across Europe this week with the G Pad 8.0 and G Pad 10.1 following over the next several weeks. LG state that the tablets will be priced to “fill the gap between entry and premium tablets”. ie. a mid-range tablet. LG are positioning the tablets as entertainment devices. By this I am assuming media consumption as the specs inside them are relatively mediocre for a 2014 release and they may struggle to play the high end games smoothly.

QPair is an attempt by LG to combine the use of a phone and tablet into a single experience. After pairing your phone and tablet together you can respond to notifications of received phone calls and messages from the smartphone on the tablet. LG have released an SDK for developers to make use of this. They envisage developers being able to “create apps that let users stream online media and change settings on the G Pad remotely from any Android smartphone”. Sounds a bit like AllCast doesn’t it?
Still no word on if or when the new offerings from LG will hit Australia but you can be sure the grey market importers will have your back if you wish to purchase one of these. We will have to wait and see where LG do price these but if as promised you will be looking at a mid range price.

does anyone know wat quad core they using i cant find it anywhere will they use snapdragon 800 for 10.1 version or something

Based on the specs listed, no, I cannot consider the 10.1in to be midrange. Apart from this LG tablet having 16Gb ot ROM storage and not having 3G data or phone, the specs listed are similar to the 10.1in tablet I bought from Aldi some 12 months ago now. That Aldi was a yumcha bargain basement entry level device.
