Last week, we saw that The Good Guys listed Motorola‘s new Moto E handset for sale at $187, to be released on July 1. Tonight, we’ve seen them do it again with a listing for the new LTE-compatible model of the Moto G.

The price is $298 – a bit of a markup from the original Moto G, but that’s to be expected when moving into the LTE market. Unlike the Moto E listing(s), there’s only one Moto G and it appears to be black (just like the original, then).

The listing also includes the specifications of the device and a notice to say that it’s a preorder only, and that the device will be available in store on July 1 and will be available for delivery from that date. Head on over to their site and check it out.

To say we’re excited to get our hands on this phone is an understatement. We rather liked the original Moto G (mine is even on the desk in front of me as I type this) and can’t wait to see what the addition of LTE data and a Micro SD card slot can do for Motorola’s little beauty.

Are you looking forward to the Moto G 4G? Let us know in the comments!

Before discovering the Nexus One, Jason thought he didn't need a smartphone. Now he can't bear to be without his Android phone. Jason hails from Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane depending on his mood and how detailed a history you'd like. A web developer by day with an interest in consumer gadgets and electronics, he also enjoys reading comics and has a worryingly large collection of Transformers figures. He'd like to think he's a gamer, but his Wii has been in a box since he moved to Sydney, and his PlayStation Vita collection is quite lacking. Most mornings you'll find him tilting at various windmills on Twitter - follow @JM77 and say hi!

Am I correct in saying this is single SIM only? The dual SIM capability of the original Moto G was the major drawcard for me.

Doesn’t say anything on the Specs page – just have to wait for the official announcement from Motorola.

Not sure about those frequencies. GoodGuys page claims : 4G (800/1800/2100/2600), which is bands 1,3,7,20. Only problem is 28 & 40 are of more use than 1 & 20 in Oz, particularly if you are in Canberra. Leaves you with just bands 3 & 7, though it will work here. Seems better tuned to the EU market, . I did hear word that there was a different version of the Moto G 4G due later in the year with more Oz-like frequencies – but as it is, it’s limited. Oh, and the price is significantly higher than is should be,… Read more »

Yeah, this is actually an European model in the end. They should make one for Australia as well!

I’ll grab one when I am confident about there updates in Australia.

Good price. Good alternative to the impatient Nexus fan?
