With the LG G3 due to hit Australian shores early next month, LG has decided to unveil the mini version in Korea. Known as the G3 Beat for the Korean market, LG also plans to roll it out within Europe and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS – Eastern European countries) where it will be known as the G3 s.
The phone is, style wise, almost identical to the full sized LG G3, with the same slim bezels on the sides of the 5″ HD IPS display, although at 720×1280 resolution, it’s a far cry from the 2K resolution of the larger model. Hardware wise the G3 Beat/s has taken some cuts as well, coming in with what’s apparently only a little above what is coming in the G Watch. LG do get massive kudos for including the Laser auto-focus on the camera, which we found in our hands-on worked magnificently.

The G3 Beat/s is definitely on better standing when it comes to the software that LG include. Shipping with Android 4.4.2, the phone comes with a good array of software features included in the LG G3, including the new look LG skin. As well as the skin, software features such as QuickMemo+ and Smart Keyboard are also included.
The G3 Beat/s has, at this stage, not yet been announced for Australia. The G2 Mini never made it to Australian shores, so it’s unlikely it will be available here. Still if it does launch in Australia, it should be available in a variety of colour options similar to the G3, including Metallic Black, Silk White and Shine Gold. We’ll have to wait and see what happens with the G3 Beat/s in Australia, stay tuned.
