Google Search
Ok Google – this one will get your heart going this morning. Google Australia does a fair few Australian focused ads and we’ve shown a few in the past, but this one caught our attention. As Australian’s almost all of us will have had to contend with one of these long legged denizens of our homes, gardens and workplaces: The Huntsmen. Google has shown off their search app in this new ad and if you haven’t seen the YouTube video it’s based on previously, it’s worth a watch, but be warned – Arachnophobes should probably skip this one!

    Vacuum cleaner. Empty outside.

    Stoopid and fail
Fodder for the Notional Nein Nyetwork’s “Australia’s Phoniest Home Vidiots” show.

To safely catch a huntsman spider on the ceiling or architrave moulding, you use a broomhandle tapping it on the surface where the spider is, near the spider, to ‘persuade’ it to go where you want, the wall at arm height.
And yes, I have done such ‘herding’ of a huntsman. Not to catch it, but rather to ‘convince’ it to not head down the wall toward the back of my computers.

I usually just spray it until it curls up.

    I don’t kill huntsman spiders.
    They’re not a threat.
    They’re cute.

Haha yeah if I can get them outside I will.
